I am currently a sociology major at college and i have recently thought about primary education teaching. I have read about how to obtain a non-traditional teaching license after i graduate. What I am not sure on before I spend money on extra classes is why would a school hire a fairly non-experienced teacher when they could hire a teacher who received an education degree and has had classroom training. Anyone who has obtained a non-traditional license and works in a school, could you please explain how hard it was to find a job? Was it hard to start out teaching with basically no experience? I live in Arkansas, but anywhere in the USA would be fine for advice.
